2004 to 2019

EIR was owned by Peter Haagen, sadly Peter passed away suddenly in 2019

Comment by Ole, who had met Peter in 2009:

For those of us who met him in 2009 during our meeting in Svanemøllehavnen he made a strong impression. When Peter around the
year 2000 decided that he had sailed enough motorboats and now was the time for sailing the Danish society for
ocean sailing suggested to him to buy a GD. And so in 2004 made a test sailing (singlehand) to the Faroe Islands
(Thorshavn) and back again via the Shetlands - just to see if he liked sailing.
And so, in 2006 he started his singlehand journey via Caledonian Canal and Irish See to Brazil en route to Argentina
where he was supposed to meet with a sailing friend and spend Xmas. 'Unfortunately' he ran into a lovely Brazilian
lady, married her and returned back to Denmark (still singlehand/the Brazilian lady flew to Denmark) after 15 months.
this story and more he told us in 2009 where KB was present, too. RIP - what a character.
